Executive Committee
Functions:
1. The Head of the Department is the final decision maker and will be advised by the Executive Committee, whose primary function is to assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the strategic plan, operational plans and policy.
2. The Executive Committee is responsible for the implementation and on-going planning to promote the highest standards of teaching, research and management activities within the Department, the wider community and the national and international context.
3. The Executive Committee is responsible for:
- Allocation of resources in terms of finance, staff and infrastructure;
- The Department's management; and
- Responding to any item that requires a Department position to be conveyed.
4. The Executive Committee may from time to time at its discretion establish sub-committees or working parties and direct them to report or review any matter the Executive refers to them.
Meeting, Minutes and Reporting
- The Executive Committee will meet once per month.
- Meetings will be minuted and available to all staff on the Department's web page.
- The Executive Manager will act as Executive Officer.
- Agenda items are to be forwarded to the EO one week prior to the meeting.
Membership
The Committee is chaired by Prof Richard Dowell and its members currently include Prof Hugh McDermott, Prof Stephen O’Leary, A/Prof Bob Cowan, A/Prof Gary Rance, Ms Angela Marshall and Ms Rachel Holthouse.
