The Department of Otolaryngology offers a range of professional development sessions and workshops throughout the year. Since one in six Australians currently has some form of hearing loss many professionals will be dealing regularly with a significant number of hearing impaired clients. These educational sessions are aimed at such professionals (for example: general practitioners, nurses, teachers and teachers aides, maternal and child health nurses, aged care workers, ear nose and throat specialists, speech pathologists, etc). Participation in these sessions aims to broaden knowledge and improve skills in a relaxed and inviting environment.
When: 12 November 2009, 5pm - 9pm (registration from 4.30pm)
Where: Audiology, Hearing and Speech Sciences, 550 Swanston Street, Parkville.
Presented by experienced adult and paediatric audiologists from the University of Melbourne.
Cost: $110 including light refreshments.
