Improved signal processing strategies for analysis of auditory steady-state responses

Investigator: Gary Rance

Project Title: Improved signal processing strategies for analysis of auditory steady-state responses.

Recent work conducted at the University of Melbourne, Department of Engineering has developed a number of novel signal analysis procedures designed to extract auditory evoked potentials from within the scalp recorded EEG. This study will investigate the implementation of these strategies in clinical populations and may lead to the next generation of commercial evoked potential devices. Initial trials will involve populations of normal & hearing impaired adult subjects. Subsequent testing will assess the usefulness of these new approaches in infants and young children.
